Heidemann Family Reunion & Julie's Family

This past weekend was the Heidemann Family Reunion. We had some new comers this year, Baby Sophie and Julie from Germany (our 4th sister). Mike and I got there Saturday afternoon, but apparently didn't miss much - Kate, Anne and Julie hadn't even made it to the pool yet. So we spent the evening following tradition - going to the pool, having the annual balloon toss (which my dad and Aunt Doris won!), eating bar-b-que ribs that Uncle Les made, then grandma's homemade vanilla ice cream. The adults played trivial pursuit and the cousins played something a little less intellectual - Spoons (we had to teach Erin the game, but she is a smart cookie and caught on quick) Unfortunately, Mike got so excited about being at the reunion he forgot to take many pictures. A specific family member (Uncle Les) mentioned that everyone takes pictures every year but he never sees any of them, so we included some from last year as well.

After the Heidemann Family Reunion we had a different family reunion. We finally met Julie's family - her mom Manuela, and Marcus, her mom's boyfriend. They came bearing gifts of Nutella! They both speak English really well and were very fun to talk to! Sunday night we had mom's spinach lasagna and Monday we all went up in the arch and checked out the old courthouse and old cathedral. Mike and I had to leave Sunday night, but my parents made sure they didn't leave without going to a Cardinal's Baseball game, and some live Irish music at McGurks!
