8 Months Pregnant

Here is My 8 month photo. The doctor says I am doing great and the heartbeat and stomach measurements are great too. My mom was in town so she got to go to my doctor's appointment to hear the heartbeat. We have started childbirth classes at the hospital which are very informative and helpful. Turns out there are a LOT of things we did not know about in the process of labor and delivery! I am starting to slow down on my walks quite and bit and I have to tie my shoes like my patients at the nursing home!

San Diego

This weekend I was able to meet Mike in San Diego as he had been there all week for a work course. I flew in on Thursday morning and I met him at his hotel just in time for his lunch break. We ate outside at a little restaurant on a dock. I spent the afternoon hanging out at the pool until Mike was done with class. That evening we got all dressed up for dinner in the Gas Lamp district. The problem was, is that I choose beauty over comfort and wore my flip flops out. We ended up walking longer than I expected and the next morning my feet hurt so bad I could hardly walk. (Dinner was great however... we ate at a Spanish Tapa's restaurant). I spent Friday at the pool off my feet while Mike was in class (I had intended to check out the city a little bit). Friday evening I was able to walk about 4 blocks to dinner in Little Italy for some great Italian food! Saturday we went ahead with our original plans and took a ferry to Corondo Island. To decrease the walking we rented a type of bike (no balance involved) and toured around the island. The bike ended up being more of a workout than we planned so we only kept it for an hour before we decided to walk to the beach. The beach was HUGE (and very crowded) but we found a spot in the sand and took a break. All of the sitting at the beach caused us to work up a huge appetite so we had some yummy Mexican and headed back to the hotel! Saturday night we figured we had enough eating out so Mike walked over a each way the grocery store and bought us some fruits and veggies for dinner. We stayed in and watched TV as my feet couldn't take anymore! It felt like such a short trip but Sunday afternoon we had to head back to Seattle. Even though I slowed us down a little bit it was still a great last get away before our baby comes!!

Noah's Back!

Noah's back from his teaching adventures in South Korea. He arrived in Seattle after flying across the Pacific and is starting his journey across the country. From here he goes to Cincinnati, Saint Louis, and ultimately back to New York. Anyways, he was here for a few weeks. During his stay, we did everything from kayak in the sound to hiking Mount Rainier, with many things in between including the watching the SeaFair Airshow. We had a great time and we're glad he's back in the country!

Here's some pictures
...and here's the airshow!

Shower's in St. Louis

This past weekend I went to St. Louis for two "unofficial" baby showers. I took the red eye flight and arrived in St. Louis Friday morning. After a 4 hour nap, I awoke just in time to help decorate! The "bar-b-que for baby" was Safari animal themed (just like out baby bedding). The whole family came including the Smith's, the Voegtles, the Les Heidemann's and Grandma. My parents made pulled pork and pulled buffalo chicken for dinner - it was awesome! It was fun to see everyone again!

Cousin Amber and Amy spent the night and Saturday after a morning walk we met up with Maria, Laura, Justin, Julie, and Jennie at Bottleworks. After a few hours of catching up, we went home and got ready for dinner at Favazza's. Emilie Collins, Katie and Jim, Karen and Travis and Jennie's boyfriend James joined the group. We had an awesome dinner and then opened presents and ate cupcakes that Amy and Julie had brought!! Following dinner we went to a smoke-free bar nearby for a few drinks (water for me of course). Sunday morning, Katie and Jim and Julie came over and joined us for brunch. Later I finally got to see Katie and Jim's house which is AWESOME!!! Sunday evening we Gerry, Emily and Katie came over for a visit and since Katie and Emily are both pregnant we got some awesome pictures! Amber stayed with me the whole time which was so nice since I can't remember the last time I got to spend more than a couple of hours with her! She was a trooper too as we went non-stop the whole weekend!

Monday, Amber stuck around and we met Kate downtown (along with my parents) at a Crepe restaurant for lunch before I had to get on my flight.

It was a great weekend and the only think missing was Mike. After this weekend I think Louis has just about everything he could possibly need! It was really hard to say goodbye to everyone but next time we will be home we will have Louis with us, so that is very exciting!
